Ipt...this is for you

Topic: What is the difference between effective and ineffective media in the classroom?

Well... I would say that effective media is in essence...effective. Which I would say means that it is engaging, that it is educational, that it is memorable, that it is inline with school curriculum, and that it enhances the value of your lesson. For anything you do in teaching if you are not doing it in a way that is engaging for teenagers, well, then it doesn't really matter what you say. You need to remember your audience and effective technology will do that and be interesting for them. At the same time you can not just show funny clips for a good laugh. There needs to be learning involved and that learning needs to be inline with your curriculum. Bottom line, if the technology used makes your lesson better than it would be without the tech, then I would call it an effective use.

Ineffective media I would then classify as anything that takes away from your lesson. Weather because it is boring, confusing, isn't working, is above or below student level, or does not teach any education information it is not going to enhance your classroom. The point at which the technology begins decrease the learning in your classroom it becomes ineffective.
